Greetings!
So you want to direct your first film. You attended courses, you've hired the
crew and you are ready to start. Is there anything missing?
On the first day of
prep you have to meet and talk to your Director of Photography to explain your
vision of the film. Plus on a day to day basis you have to talk
lenses, angles, framing, camera moves etc. It can all sound like a bit too much - especially if you're trying to focus on the actors.
But don't worry!. Here
at Raindance we have just the right course for you: Basic Cinematography. I've
designed it to demystify the multilayered
job of DoP and it will help directors work with DoPs and give a great grounding for those who want to become cinematographers
Zoran Veljkovic
P.S. Thanks for understanding
the change of course dates. In last the 3 weeks I have travelled for work from London to Taiwan, then Alaska and New York, back to London and
straight away San Francisco and back for the Raindance Course.

Animation seems to be taking over the cinema these days: Toy Story 3, Despicable Me and Shrek Forever After. We too offer animated films... In " Whale", a gigantic whale finds himself stuck in front of a house. In " Oops", a princess is to be rescued by her knight-in-shining-armour... Or, so she thought. In " The Wall", a man's walking adventure comes to a halt by a wall. Will his adventure stop here?
