Planning an efficient shooting schedule
|
| If you haven't heard of
Ruba Nadda, you soon will...
You might have
heard some tricks of the trade, but you'd still be
astonished by director and writer, Ruba Nadda, for shooting TIFF's 2009Best Canadian Feature Film, Cairo Time in only 25 days!
Nadda and her
crew set out to Cairo, amidst 25 million people inhabiting the city,
they battled the heat, censorship, uncontrollable shooting locations,
and perhaps the most problematic of all, poor dry cleaning services -
and of course, all the sightseeing they had to do on the film set.

This week, with Live! Ammunition! upon us on the 21st, I
thought I would look for good quotes on pitching.
Sadly this meant I
got a lot of quotes about baseball....but what the hell, some seemed
strangely appropriate:
... to make matters more confusing,
here's a filmmaker using the
metaphor of talking about baseball pitching with regards film pitching (my head hurts
now):
You keep pitching. Most of the pitches run wild. A few
are caught. Joseph Barbera
Compiled
by: Raindance Course Director Rory O'Donnell
| I can't recall too much about pitching, but I do remember that I was anxious to get it over with. I just wanted to get that first game over with and go from there. Dennis Eckersley
Mental attitude and concentration are the keys to pitching. Ferguson Jenkins
Pitching is 80% of the game and the other half is hitting and fielding. Mickey Rivers
Pitching is the art of instilling fear. Sandy Koufax
Sooner or later the arm goes bad. It has to... Sooner or later you have to start pitching in pain. Whitey Ford
All pitchers are liars or crybabies. Yogi Berra

We love Shorts!
Director James Eaves has created a trilogy based on the creepy, malevolent character of Dennison Tophet. In ' Briefcase', the villain asks a couple to mind his suitcase for a reward of £1000--as long as they don't look inside. ' Iniquity' its sequel, Eaves pits Tophet against the deeply suspicious Detective Jack Thompson, a man determined to unearth the former's dark past. Look out for the final installment of the trilogy, 'Three Wishes,' currently in development. |
