Greetings!
Hello Everybody! Sziasztok!
The Raindance community is growing larger, reaching more independent filmmakers around the world each day. Our newest addition is Raindance Budapest, where we will be starting up our first courses in the fall. (Crowd cheers)
Why Budapest you ask?
Because its the hottest runaway production spot in Europe right now, and has the potential to be the new filmmaking capital of Europe. Local talent is gaining momentum, and young Hungarian directors are making waves internationally. RDBP's goal is to teach, network and aid talented and ambitious local filmmakers into the international independent community.
So everyone please welcome Budapest to the big happy Raindance Family.

5 Lessons From Hollywood Rebels
|
|
The 90s was a decade when indie filmmaking took Hollywood by storm. Spike Jonze, Paul Thomas Anderson, Quentin Tarantino and co. all broke through with highly individual films that put a distinct stamp on Hollywood filmmaking. Films like Traffic,
Pulp Fiction, Being John Malkovich, Boogie Nights, and
Fight Club showed a rebellious streak that obviously appealed to tastes at the time. What lessons can be learned from these rebel filmmakers? Well read on to find out...

The Power of Lighting
Light is the most important tool available to you when enhancing the
atmosphere and mystery of your story on camera. On the shoot, the
Director of Photography will spend the greater part of his or her time
getting the lighting set-up to best represent the scene's aesthetic and
emotional needs. Using a digital camera and a simple lighting kit, this workshop will
introduce you to the basics of lighting for moving pictures, with
emphasis on working on the low-budget digital formats. What? The Power of LightingWhen? Monday 14 June, 6.30-9.30pm Where? Craven

| Raindance-winning and multiple BIFA nominee 'Exhibit A' will be available to rent in the UK from Monday 7th June. All the nationwide DVD rental places have it so no excuses for not adding it to your watch list and seeing for yourself the film that's had critics literally wetting their pants in horror! Ok, probably not "literally", but we don't know that for sure. Most of them are of a certain age... A wide retail release kicks off 2 weeks later (21st June), and again, all major outlets are stocking it - A word to the wise, Zavvi's the cheapest place to pre-order so far... but you didn't hear that from me. Further information about the film can be found on our website www.exhibitathemovie.com, which includes links to facebook and twitter for the latest updates.

Writers, you may want to check out Writer on Writing. An amusing and insightful look at the process and results of writing for film and tv. As always, the archives hold some gems.
