LUST, LOVE, AND BLOOD - A DARK DESIRE
Vampires will always hold a certain allure. The legends have been around for centuries and still completely captive society! Each generation thirsts for the coffins, fangs, and pearly white complexions.
The "blood-soaked" horror genre has been retelling the same stories with the same symbols to fulfill this contemporary yearning. With Twilight coming out earlier this year and True Blood hitting the UK in September, the lust for vampires has been reawakened. The old goth beauties have been transformed into the new sexiest men "alive."

Top 5 films with Problematic Teens
Through film we are able to observe the complex ways in which teens
behave and carry themselves. With their behavior at a focal point,
problematic teenagers make for a great story line in many films.
In comparison to the "cookie-cutter" teen (characters who bring neither
drama nor action to the film) troublesome teens tend to captivate
audiences most. The movies Mean Girls and the Breakfast Club are two
films that example this. These films have gained much publicity
specifically for the way in which teenagers are portrayed in them.
Here is a list of 5 films with crazy, attention seeking teens. Among
this list you'll find some of the most disturbing, insightful and
amusing teenage-based film plots.

Experienced Producer Required for Short Film Shoot is scheduled for early September, probably in North/NW London. As such, the candidate must be available very soon, to commence pre-production. A payment will be available, in line with the budget of the film. Most of the budget is now in place.
Ideally, the Producer will be available through pre-production and beyond, to help with festival entries. The story concerns a female refugee struggling to adapt to life in London (script on request).
I would also be interested to hear from DOPs, ADs, etc. If you know of any suitable personnel, feel free to forward these details.

"Jerry Maguire meets Slumdog Millionaire." That's how a British writer, Chris Chamberlain, describes his new Africa and London-based screenplay "The Concept". The story exposes the corruption, exploitation and waste of human potential that's rife in Africa. He's looking for a well-connected agent, an experienced producer, and a director to help detonate what he calls his "love nuke". Interested? Email him at theconceptwriter@aol.com
****** Virtual Strangers are a group of international musicians who create eclectic original music. Fans often describe what we do as 'soundtrack music', so we thought it might be interesting in collaborating with an independent filmmaker. Please contact Guy Pople @ www.virtualstrangers.net where you will find more info and samples. ******

Perhaps best known for making three of the top six highest-grossing documentary films of all time, Academy Award-winning American filmmaker Michael Moore is back in the limelight with his newest film, Capitalism: A Love Story.
Moore's recent successful film ventures include Bowling for Columbine (2002), Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) and Sicko (2007). He won the Academy Award for Best Documentary feature for the gun-control documentary Bowling for Columbine and was nominated in the same category for the American health care documentary Sicko. Fahrenheit 9/11 - which examines the aftermath of the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington D.C. - grossed nearly $200 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing documentary film of all time.
The filmmaker's latest documentary examines the world financial crisis and the role the United States economy has played. He also takes a look at the effects of the transition from the Bush Administration to the Obama Administration and the controversial stimulus bailout package.
Capitalism: A Love Story is scheduled to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September and Overture Films is planning to release the film on 2 October 2009.
