Evolution vs. Religion: How to End the War
Reverend Michael Dowd, author of Thank God for Evolution (endorsed by 6 Nobel Prize-winning scientists), will explain how evolution is Good News and scientific evidence is modern-day scripture. The lessons of a meaningful evidence-based worldview can, according to Dowd, transform lives and relationships. On his view, there is no reason for people of faith to treat science as a threat. His message is relevant to people of all faiths and those of no faith. Dowd and his wife Connie Barlow, a noted science writer, have been featured in the New York Times, the L.A. Times, the Washington Post and Newsweek, and on CNN, ABC news, and Fox news. When: Monday, August 6, 7p.m. Where: Unitarian Universalist Church of Fargo-Moorhead, 121 9th Street South, Fargo. Co-sponsored by CIP and the FMUU Church.
