Interfaith Panel on Forgiveness

May 20, Fargo Public Library. Six panelists talked about the practice of forgiveness from their faith perspectives: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam and the Baha'i Faith. Members of the audience had good questions for the panelists. Sponsored by the Center for Interfaith Projects.
Interfaith Picnic

The Center for Interfaith Projects is planning an interfaith picnic and potluck. We hope to bring together people from as many faiths as possible. Bring something to share and share what others bring. Eating together is a way of building bridges. We will provide utensils, plates, beverages, watermelon, and grills.

Presentation on Sufism

Sufism is the mystical dimension of Islam. It has been called the heart and soul of Islam. Like every form of mysticism, its goal is union with the Transcendent which in the case of Islam is called  Allah (God). Reza Saberi--translator of Sufi poetry--will explain the philosophy behind Sufism, the stations of this Sufi path to God, and the effects of this form of spiritual enlightenment. One expression, in dance, of Sufi spirituality is the Whirling Dervish: a video will be shown to illustrate this.

Date: Thursday, July 26 2012
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Lotus Studio of The Spirit Room. (111 Broadway, Fargo)
