Summary: A bill for an act concerning the encouragement of outdoor recreational opportunities, and, in connection therewith, creating the wildlife sporting license plate and making an appropriation.

Kansas SB 314 

Intro Date: 1/20/2012

Issue Brief: American System of Conservation Funding; Crossbows; Senior/Vet Hunting and Angling Privileges   

Summary: Eliminating the fishing and hunting license exempting for persons 65 years of age and older; establishing a deer crossbow hunting pilot project.

Status: Approved by the governor on May 25.

 

New Hampshire SB 297

Issue Brief: Apprentice Hunting License; Recruitment

Summary: Relative to the apprentice hunting license. This bill makes certain hunters with bows eligible for an apprentice hunting license.

New York SB 6351

Issue Brief: Voter Registration

Summary: Allows any qualified person to apply for voter registration and enrollment by application made with an application for hunting or fishing license.

California AB 2179 

Intro Date: 2/23/2012

Sponsor: Assemblyman Michael Allen

Issue Brief: Trapping/Hunting/Fishing/Conservation - General

Summary: This bill would eliminate the prohibition that the commission not revoke or suspend any license or permit until specified regulations have been adopted and approved, as specified. This bill would also eliminate the provision that any deliberation conducted by the commission, or conducted by any person appointed by the commission to conduct a hearing, is required to be conducted pursuant to the law governing administrative adjudication. This bill would authorize the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) to impose, administratively, civil penalties for violations of the Fish and Game Code and regulations adopted pursuant to it, including authority to impose administrative civil penalties up to $20,000 for any violation.
