Shir Libeynu Is Coming Out to Pride!

This year, for the first time, Shir Libeynu will have a table at Pride Toronto's Community Fair on Saturday June 30th and Sunday July 1st. Even now, in 2012, many people are still searching for a place to belong as queer Jews. We want to make sure that the LGBTQ community and their supporters and loved ones know about our welcoming and inclusive congregation.

Come out, say hello and shmooze with us, at Booth # 23, near Gloucester and Church. Look for our green-and-white striped awning. We will be there from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. See you at PRIDE Toronto. |

HEART TO HEART: A SUMMER MITZVAH PROJECT
Bringing 20 Arab-Israeli and Jewish-Israeli youth to a three-week co-existence program at Camp Shomria, in Perth, Ontario, this program fosters the growth of lifelong friendships and creates an open and honest dialogue about the conflict in Israel. There are many ways to get involved, including sponsoring an activity, hosting participants at your homes while they are in Toronto between July 25th to 29th or making a donation to the program. Please contact Dalia Krusner, Program Coordinator at heart2heart@campshomria.ca for more information.

The congregation holds Shabbat services on the first Saturday morning of each month, in the Michael Bernstein Chapel, on the 3rd floor of the Miles Nadal JCC, followed by a Kiddush. Free childcare is available during the services. We also offer adult education workshops and programs, the possibility to participate in our choir and chanting events, as well as holiday celebrations and Oneg Shabbat dinners throughout the year.

Congregation Shir Libeynu is unaffiliated, liberal, inclusive and egalitarian. Our participatory services combine tradition and innovation. Shir Libeynu is Hebrew for "song of our hearts," and our services include prayers and music both ancient and modern. Our diverse community is a welcoming one.
