Westshore Spring Golf League - a GREAT Value
Join us for a weekly 9 hole golf game with other Westshore area business professionals. We play every Thursday at 5 p.m. from April 12 to July 12 at Rocky Point Golf Course. Rocky Point is only 5 minutes from any Westshore location - the most convenient golf course in the area. League fee is $200 per two person team plus $12 per round per player. Want to play more than 9 holes each week?? For only $10 more per week you can play 9 holes on your own prior to league play PLUS hit a free small bucket of range balls. At the end of your round, mix and mingle with league members and enjoy $1 hotdogs, $1 draft beer and $3 hamburgers in the newly renovated clubhouse bar.

New Programming Committee!
The Alliance's new Programming Committee will hold their first meeting on April 3 at 3 p.m. at the Tampa Airport Marriott. Thank you to Brandon Marshall of Marriott Corp. for volunteering to chair this new committee. The committee will assist the Alliance in evaluating, developing and promoting member events. Westshore Master Plan is underway!
The Westshore Alliance Master Plan Committee has launched a year-long effort to develop a Master Plan based on our collective vision for Westshore's future. Nearly 40 Alliance members and representatives from local public agencies attended the kickoff meeting on March 8. The project will identify specific improvements to streets, sidewalks, parks, etc. that will foster new private-sector investment and create opportunities for economic development throughout Westshore. There will be ample opportunities for input from Westshore businesses and residents over the next year. For more information contact Ann Kulig.

Volunteers needed for the Great American Cleanup
Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful will host this annual event on April 21 at sites throughout the county including two waterfront sites in Westshore - Cypress Point Park and the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Be the Face of Tampa Bay. Volunteer for the Republican National Convention. The 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee needs thousands of volunteers to be the faces of Tampa Bay during the week of the 2012 Republican National Convention. Volunteers will welcome guests at local airports and hotels throughout the area, as well as support Host Committee programs and a variety of events during the year leading up to the convention. The first HomeGoods store in the city of Tampa will open on April 15 at Walter's Crossing located on Dale Mabry Highway just north of I-275.
Saber Real Estate Advisors is moving forward with plans for development of the area's first Container Store at the corner of Boy Scout and West Shore Blvds. Demolition of existing buildings on the site, in preparation for construction, should begin this month.
Wawa, a popular Philadelphia based gas and convenience store chain, has announced plans to build a new store at 401 N. Dale Mabry. The site recently received City Council approval and will open in February 2013.
Grille One Sixteen, an American contemporary restaurant, has opened at 612 N Dale Mabry Highway. They have completely renovated the buliding, which was formerly occupied by Perkins.
Tampa International Airport officially opened Florida's first airport-based public natural gas fueling station on March 9. The station, located at 4750 West South Avenue, is open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
