MacDill AFB Commander to speak at March luncheon
 Colonel Lenny J. Richoux, Commander, 6th Air Mobility Wing, MacDill Air Force Base will be the guest speaker at our membership luncheon on March 21 at the Mainsail Suites Hotel & Conference Center. The MacDill team is made up of nearly 20,000 active military members and Dept. of Defense civilians belonging to the 6th Air Mobility Wing, 927th Air Refueling Wing, US Central Command, US Special Operations Command, and more than 35 other mission partners. New Programming Committee!
The Alliance is forming a new Programming Committee which will be responsible for the strategic direction of Westshore Alliance member events. Brandon Marshall of Marriott Corp. will be chairing this effort. The committee's role will be to assist the Alliance in evaluating, developing and promoting Alliance events. Westshore Master Plan project launches in March
The Westshore Alliance Master Plan Committee will kickoff a project to develop a Master Plan based on our collective vision for Westshore's future at a meeting on March 8 at 8:30 a.m. at Troy University, 5201 W. Kennedy Blvd. The project is a year long effort to identify a number of specific improvements to public spaces (streets, sidewalks, parks, etc.,,,) that will foster new private-sector investment and create opportunities for economic development throughout the Westshore District. There will be many opportunities for input from Westshore businesses and residents to make this project a success. For more information contact Ann Kulig.

Be the Face of Tampa Bay. Volunteer for the Republican National Convention. The 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee will recruit, train and manage thousands of volunteers to be the faces of Tampa Bay during the week of the 2012 Republican National Convention. Volunteers will welcome guests at local airports and hotels throughout the area, as well as support Host Committee programs and a variety of events during the year leading up to the convention. Highwoods Properties, Inc. has leased 23,289 square feet at LakePointe Two at Tampa Bay Park to Time Warner Business Services, LLC.
Saber Real Estate Advisors is moving forward with plans for development of the area's first Container Store at the corner of Boy Scout and West Shore Blvds. Demolition of existing buildings on the site, in preparation for construction, should begin later this month or early in April.
Wawa, popular Philadelphia based gas and convenience store chain, has plans to build a new store at 401 N. Dale Mabry. The site is scheduled for a rezoning hearing before City Council on March 8.
Girl Scouts of West Central Florida has purchased two floors of Class A office space at 4610 Eisenhower Boulevard for $2.15 million. The Girl Scouts plan on occupying the new space by June.
