The inaugural Shutts & Bowen Taste of Westshore on October 9 at Hillsborough Community College was a rousing success. Nearly 800 attendees enjoyed an afternoon of unlimited tastings from many of Westshore's best restaurants, Thanks to all of the sponsors and volunteers that made this event a success.  Congratulations to Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar which was voted best restaurant by the attendees.  Honorable mentions go to: Blue Water Grill/Wyndham Tampa Westshore, The Capital Grille, Donatello and Roy's Restaurant.  We hope to see you at next year's event! 

Highwoods Properties recently announced that they have fully leased their Independence Park office building.  WellCare has signed a lease for 63,000 s.f. that is scheduled to commence in April 2012.  ConnectWise has signed a lease for 50,000 s.f. that is scheduled to commence in May 2012. 

Chase Bank will officially open their new Westshore location at 4601 W. Kennedy Blvd. on November 14. 

One Call Medical signed a 10-year lease for 17,000 square feet at Colonial Place located at 4350 W. Cypress Street. 

Two developers have filed rezoning petitions with the City of Tampa for sites along Boy Scout Blvd.  Both are scheduled to be heard on November 10:

• MCRT Investments has proposed a plan for a 300 unit apartment complex on a 3.3 acre site on Boy Scout/Spruce Street, between Trask and Hesperides.  
• Saber Real Estate Advisors has proposed a plan for 40,000 square feet of retail space at the southwest corner of Boy Scout and West Shore Blvds.  Plans call for three buildings on the site:  a 24,500-square-foot building for The Container Store, and two buildings to house a bank or other retail uses.
