The Seven Wonders of the World are known by many, but what about the Seven Wonders of Thurston County? County Commissioner Sandra Romero is asking residents to help come up with a list. The goal is to boost tourism and to remind local residents that some of the best places to visit are in their own backyards.

Residents can nominate anything that they appreciate about Thurston County and its local cities. Examples include natural and historic places, local farms, special events, eateries, or the local music and art scene. And you can make more than one nomination!

Thurston County will list the top seven results on the county website on Sept. 30, along with a list of the other entries. People can enter nominations year-round and the web list will be updated periodically.

"Thurston County is special in so many ways. It's time to showcase what we have to offer," Romero said.

 

We agree Commissioner and we think Capitol Lake is truly one of Thurston County's seven wonders!
