February 2012

Greetings & Happy Spring Semester!

If you're teaching a course with a research component and are concerned about your students' skills, let me know. I'd be happy to teach a research session or create a LibGuide specifically for your students.

On another note, we will be trialing Cambridge Histories Online this spring; if you are interested in this database, please email me at sharonv@mailbox.sc.edu and I'll let you know when and how you can access the trial.

Latino Literature

This Alexander Street Press database includes poetry, fiction, and plays written in Spanish and English by authors of various Latino backgrounds living in the United States. The groups most heavily represented are Chicano, Puerto Rican, and Cuban. Aside from the full text of the works, the database also includes supplementary materials such as photographs, playbills, flyers, and book jackets.  Click here to access the database.

2) save "preferred searches" in the catalog and receive alerts when new materials are added that match your search

3) keep a record of the materials you have borrowed (optional).

You can do all of this without coming into the library! "My Account" is linked on the library's homepage and within the library's Catalog. Click here for help topics on using "My Account."
