February 2012

Hello,

I hope your Spring semester is going well. This issue of "From Your Libraries ..." contains information about a new option to use with Interlibrary Loan. When borrowing a book or other item through Interlibrary Loan you will have the option to request that the item be purchased for the Libraries' collection.   We are always looking for ways to improve our collections and hope you might find this new option beneficial. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any library related questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Karen W. Brown

ILL offers new online feature

Have you ever thought that a book you requested through ILL would make a good addition to our library collectionbooks?  Now USC faculty who ask to borrow a book or other item from another institution through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) have the option to request that the item be purchased and added to the Libraries' collection.  Find out how easy it is to request a purchase.

Are you getting the most out of My Account

"My Account"?

All faculty members have access to the library through "My Account" "My Account" allows you to:

1) view and renew checked out materials

2) save "preferred searches" in the catalog and receive alerts when new materials are added that match your search

3) keep a record of the materials you have borrowed (optional).

You can do all of this without coming into the library! "My Account" is linked on the library's homepage and within the library's Catalog.  Click here for help topics on using "My Account."
