Fleurs de Printemps
A Benefit for JW House

Thank you to all guests, donors, and volunteers at JW House's fundraising event, Fleurs de Printemps, on Sunday June 5. The event was a great success and wouldn't have been possible without JW House supporters. Due to rain in the weather forecast, we moved the garden party inside. We had over 150 guests at the event which was held at the lovely home of Dan and Barbara Mount. Guests enjoyed delicious food from The Party Helpers while bidding on amazing auction items and listening to The Nancy Wright Trio's wonderful jazz music. Special thank you to: our sponsors Mary and Angelo Danna, Kaiser Permanente, and Heritage Bank of Commerce; as well as our Honorary Co-Chairs Barbara Mount and Helen Owen. Funds raised at Fleurs de Printemps benefit JW House services to families who have loved ones receiving treatment at local hospitals. For more information on JW House, please visit www.jwhouse.org.

Spotlight on JW House Volunteer:
Meet Bev
Each month we will feature a different volunteer at JW House. This month we feature Bev, our dedicated data entry volunteer.
Seek and you shall find! Shortly after my youngest child left for college I began searching for a volunteer opportunity that would allow me to improve my computer skills in a friendly, home-like environment. I saw a posting for JW House on Craigslist: a seemingly perfect match for my background and interests. My professional training is in Speech Pathology and I enjoy working in a medical setting. During my lengthy stint as a full-time Mom and household manager I have consistently done extensive volunteer work because I believe in giving back to worthwhile causes. JW House combines those passions. It was love at first sight, and our relationship continues to prosper.
While my ultimate goal is to transition back into the working world, for now I am thrilled to be doing JW's database entry. I enjoy the delightful company of Jill and April as I am tucked away in the office with the computer.
In my leisure time I enjoy yoga, learning piano as an adult, and am starting to play bridge. I also love food and wine, am an adventurous cook and love to bake: the aromas wafting through JW House certainly satisfy the foodie in me. I am grateful for the experience and pleased to be a part of such a loyal and giving group of volunteers.

From the JW House Guest Book:

Thanks so much for the hospitality these last few days. I had a place to come and take a break with my little ones while visiting my newborn in the NICU.
Always grateful,
A JW House Guest
