Cairn Terriers
This breed originated in Scotland, the earlier terriers were bred for their working ability, not appearance. Such characteristics as courage, tenacity and intelligence, a sturdy body, weather-proof coat, and strong jaws, were sought generation after generation.
The Cairn Terrier is a sensible, confident little dog, independent but friendly with everyone he meets. Cairn Terriers are  alert, intelligent and long-lived, they tends to remain active and playful well into their teen years, and are good with children.
