Check out this story in our LINKS about Lily and Madison, what a heartwarming story to start off the holiday season!
Greetings!
FINALLY cooler weather has arrived, and our furry friends are feeling more energetic and probably begging to go out on walks more! The busy holiday months are coming and sometimes our pets can get "lost" in the chaos. Take time out for yourself and for them to make sure your loyal feline or canine friend isn't forgotten. Taking time to "pet proof" your house for the holidays saves you an unneeded trip to the doctors office and more time for fun! This Thanksgiving, be thankful for your furry friend, and their unconditional love and companionship.

National Adopt a Senior Pet Month
Meet EMILY
Amanda, an employee at Cornerstone, adopted Emily as a Senior. Emily's original owner was having major health problems and was placed in an assisted living facility that did not accept pets. The family had no choice other than to board her indefinitely at a kennel where Amanda happened to work. Emily was a 12 year old Shih Tzu with a sweet personality and a calm, happy demeanor, who quickly became one of Amanda's favorite patients. After a long 2 month stay at the kennel and no "go-home" date in sight, Amanda contacted the family and proposed fostering her until they could decide where Emily would go permanently so she didn't have to live in a kennel run any longer. Once Emily arrived at Amanda's house, she quickly fit in as if she'd always been there! Fast forward a year later...her original owner finally made the difficult decision to give her up for adoption and there was no question that Amanda's home would be her forever home. For over a year now Emily has been an official part of Amanda's home, but has been a part of Amanda's heart since the 1st day she saw Emily!
