3rd Annual Beer Pairings Dinner
November 3, 2012
Why Craft Beer?

Craft beer is many different things to many different people and most beer lovers have a story of discovery to share. Craft beer has been described variously as ten minutes of pleasure, pure happiness in a glass, full flavored, authentic, archetypical, an intellectual beverage that is to be savored not swilled and much, much more.

It is also regarded as living liquid history. Each glass displays the creativity and passion of its maker and the complexity of its ingredients. Craft beer is treasured by millions of beer lovers who see it as not merely a fermented beverage, but also something to be enjoyed in moderation, shared and revered. It is a versatile beverage, often enjoyed over a discussion of the important issues of the day and sometimes used as an ingredient in cooking.
Greetings!

We are honored and excited to be planning the 3rd Annual Pairings Dinner on Friday, November 3rd at the KC Hall.  The dinner will allow attendees to taste a variety of different craft beers paired with an exquisite four course dinner.  Gene White and myself will present and explain the brewery story, ingredients of each beer, the process behind the making of the beer and the history of the beer style.

This is our most highly anticipated event having sold out the previous two years. This dinner is very special and unique which will feature an evening filled with exceptional food and beers as well as an incredible silent auction.

The silent auction will offer a variety of choices from big to small, and in a wide price range, but we are in need of items to be auctioned off at this event.  Will you please consider donating a themed basket filled with products and/or services of any kind or an item to the auction? The donated items will be auctioned at the dinner and promoted to the approximately 75-100 guests who attend the event.

The money raised at this dinner will be used towards the Chamber's scholarship fund which was able to award ten scholarships this past year.

On behalf of the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce thank you for your consideration of our request. Please contact myself at the office at 217-532-3711 or via email to address any questions or to make arrangements for pick up or delivery of your donation.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Lesley Pollard, Executive Director
