Greetings from the Chamber office!    

 

The summer is a slow time for the Chamber  which gives me the opportunity to get my creative juices flowing and recharge for upcoming events. 

If you haven't already done so I hope you will take advantage of getting your business listed in the new tourism and retail brochure.  This is free for Chamber members and only $25 for non-members.  See below for more information and to sign up.  

 

A couple of things to keep watch for: Nominations for the annual Business & Industry Dinner which will take place on September 27. Ballots will be emailed to all members next week.  After the B&I will be the annual Beer Pairings dinner.  Plans are already underway for this successful dinner.  Stay tuned on how you can purchase your tickets.  If you have an item or themed basked that you would like to donate to the silent auction portion of the dinner let me know!

With the passing of Chamber President, Terri Miller's son, the Chamber has established the Danial Miller Scholarship Fund.  Donations can be made to National Bank directly or through the Chamber office.  If you would like to read more about this exceptional young man you can read his obit here or the many comments and stories on his Facebook memorial page.

Please join the Hillsboro Chamber for our June membership meeting. Guest speaker is Paula Nixon from Ameren.  The topic will be energy efficiency.

All Chamber members are encouraged to attend. Business professionals who are interested in learning more about the Chamber can attend as our guests.

The Economic Development and Tourism committee is working on developing a brochure that will inform visitors (particularly families & sports teams) of what Hillsboro has to offer, specific activities to do while in town, sites to see etc.

If your business would like to be listed in the brochure please see the attached form.  The listing is FREE for Chamber members and $25 for non-members.  The deadline to be included is July 13.
