June Membership Meeting Friday, June 15

12:00 noon - Challacbome House
Please join the Hillsboro Chamber for our June membership meeting. Guest speaker is Mindy Melton with the Central Illinois Community Blood Center. Mindy will be discussing the need for blood, the importance of donating in the summer, and announcing a new partnership. There will also be a table set up offering free blood typing. It is a finger prick and only takes a few seconds. All Chamber members are encouraged to attend. Business professionals who are interested in learning more about the Chamber can attend as our guests. Lunch will be provided at a cost of $7 per person and will consist of: (Choose one) Option 1: Gianni's Pizza Option 2: Ginni's Chicken Salad (Lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, black olives, grilled chicken and feta cheese). Chamber awards $6,000 in scholarships
Due to a successful year, the Chamber was able to award $1,500 in scholarship money to three Hillsboro High School Seniors:
Kate Ginnard Ginnard will be attending Truman State University to major in both communications and Spanish while studying pre-law courses. After four years in undergraduate studies, Ginnard plans to attend law school.
Mackenzie Latham Latham has been accepted at Lake Land College in Mattoon and plans to major in psychology.
Chelsey Jeffers Jeffers will be attending Lincoln Land Community College majoring in history.
And the Litchfield and Hillsboro Chamber Agribusiness Committee awarded $4,500 in scholarships to seven local high school seniors:
Aaron Crawford Crawford is enrolled in the John Deere tech program at Lake Land College in Mattoon and is a graduate from Lincolnwood High School.
Alexis Waterman Waterman is enrolled at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and plans to study plan and soil sciences with a minor in agribusiness. Waterman is a graduate of Nokomis High School.
Caleb Behme Behme a graduate of Litchfield High School has been accepted to Illinois State University and his proposed major is agriculture education.
Shayla Grosenheider Grosenheider is a graduate of Litchfield High School and has been accepted to Illinois State University and plans to major in Agribusiness.
Brianna Rogers Rogers is a graduate of Litchfield High School and has been accepted to Eastern Illinois University. Roger's propsed major is environmental science.
Dustin Kistner Kistner is a graduate of Hillsboro High School and has will be attending Lincoln Land Community College. Kistner's propsed major is ag/welding. |
