Dear , DID YOU KNOW that according to the Illinois Department of Agriculture, 95% of the U.S. Pumpkin crop intended for processing is grown in Illinois? ________________________________________________________________ Spring has FINALLY arrived in Hillsboro and with it comes the much- anticipated opening of our Farmer's Market season. It's grand reopening was last Thursday, and will take place every Thursday through October from 3:00-7:00 pm at its NEW location, the historic Challacombe House.
Think FRESH and take advantage of the opportunity to buy healthy, Illinois grown produce all season long. Be sure to spread the word and help us "grow" the market into one of the best in Central Illinois.
Wishing you could sponsor the market? Good news! There is still time. See the sponsorship form for more information. Until next month,

Terri Miller, President
Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce

Farmers Market moves to Challacombe House
In addition to fresh produce, folks can expect to see a fresh look at the Hillsboro Farmers Market this year. After two years downtown on the Plaza, committee organizers decided to move the market to behind the historic Challacombe House located at 509 School Street. A beautiful, central location will provide a bigger space allowing for more vendors and plenty of ample parking. This new location is expected to attract many more customers. The Hillsboro Farmers Market is now accepting vendors for our third season, set to which began on Thursday, May 12th. Commitments can be made for a half season, the full season or on a weekly basis. Fees are nominal and vary according to the seasonal commitment. Vendors who have not participated at the market in the past will be given one free week to try out the market.
The Market is sponsored by Market of AHs, Morehouse Produce & Plants, White & Associates, Country Financial- Greg Holcomb, National Bank and the Chamber. There is still time to sponsor! Individuals or businesses can sponsor the full market season for $50. Click here for market sponsorship information. Sponsorship forms are due by June 1. The market will open on Thursdays from 3:00 - 7:00pm from May 12th - October 27. Vendor applications and copies of the Hillsboro Farmers Market guidelines can be obtained via the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce website at www.hillsborochamber.net; by contacting Lesley Pollard at 532-3711 or hillsborochamber@consolidated.net.
