Dear ,
As we start into August we are
reminded of the unwinding of summer with the start of a new school year.
For Hillsboro our big climax to summer is "Old Settlers". I
hope everyone will be able to attend and enjoy the annual two day Hillsboro
Holiday.
There is not much planned by the Chamber in the way of any events this
month except for the farmer's market. Again, we are asking for member
volunteers to oversee the market from 4 to 7 pm each Thursday. We have
seen the number of vendors increase to 11 which represents about a 175%
increase in vendors. For the first time, we are wondering whether we will
have enough space for everyone on the Plaza. What a great problem to
have! So, please give Lesley a call at 532-3711 to find out which dates are in need
of volunteers. She will be greatly appreciative.
Please note the dates of upcoming events for the remainder of the month as outlined in this Business
Brief. I hope to see you at our next regular membership meeting on Friday, August 20th, 12:00 noon downstairs at the Moose Lodge.

Gene White, President Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce

Unfortunately, blood donations go down in the summer because people are busy with their summer vacations, and usage goes up at the same time due to an increase in travel-related accidents.
