Seed Planters
I love the springtime. It is my favorite time of year. The grass turns green and grows (which means mowing the lawn-not my favorite). The flowers come up and bloom. Small leaves begin to bud and grow from the bare tree limbs. New life springs forth. I grew up on a farm. Springtime meant planting time. My family put out a huge garden. We had almost every type of vegetable including okra, squash, potatoes, tomatoes, corn, many types of beans and peas and broccoli. We even planted some fruits such as our family favorite-watermelon. As a child, my parents had me help plant the garden. My dad would plow the ground and lay off rows. One person would drop seeds while another person covered the seeds. When the first rains came, we would pray they weren't too heavy to pack the ground, keeping the seeds from coming up, or to wash the seeds away. After the rain was over and the sunshine came out, you could see green coming up from the ground in no time. Before long, the garden was producing vegetables and fruits that my family would eat for months to come. In today's Scripture, Philip told the eunuch about Jesus. The man believed and was baptized. Immediately, Philip was taken away and the man went on his way. Philip did not get to disciple or mentor the man. We assume someone was able to help him grow in his faith. When we share our faith and belief in Jesus, we may or may not see the person with whom we are sharing come to know the Lord. And, we may never have another chance to share. But what we do need to keep in mind is that we planted seeds that will hopefully have the chance and nurturing to grow to fruition. We can keep the faith that the harvest will come.

Think It Through
o How have you planted seeds in the life of your child? o How have you helped to nurture them to growth? o Who is someone you have shared with but to this date do not know if they accepted and are living for Christ? Pray for that person now, that Christ is real in their life.
