THEDACARE EXECS TO PRESENT AT IHI FORUM
| | | Join John Toussaint and Kim Barnas
On Monday December 6th, an eight-hour workshop will be presented at the IHI National Forum highlighting the Business Performance System at Thedacare. This is better described as the "lean management system" Thedacare has been building over the last seven years.
The workshop will be led by Kim Barnas, a VP at Thedacare, and a key architect of the management system. Kim will show how this management system is used with real life simulations and videos that highlight the six core principles that are built into the "management standard work." Attendees will learn what standard work looks for presidents, vice presidents and managers and how this activity ties to the true north metrics of the organization.
John Toussaint will describe the senior executive framework required to build a lean management system and will explain the core cultural enablers that underpin this system.
Attendees will be able to experiment with the standard work created at Thedacare and will have the opportunity to interact all day with the people that helped create it. In addition, all standard work will be handed out at the session and attendees are free to take that back to their own organizations. We hope to see you at IHI December 6th.

| INTERESTED IN JOINING A NETWORK? | | Starting two new cohorts in 2011
Are you a healthcare delivery organization that has demonstrated results from lean? Do you have executive-level support and leadership for your efforts? Are you willing to share your lessons learned, collaborating with others to define, measure, and share lean healthcare success?
As we have mentioned in previous newsletters, we are finalizing our third Network that will start in early 2011. The September info session for prospective members in Cambridge was a packed room and we are starting to fill places in the Network (with a goal of 12 members). But, we'd still like to talk to you if you're interested in joining the third Network or a future Network.
Our next info session will be in March (in Evanston, IL) to talk about a potential fourth Network that would start in late 2011.
