Team practices are held on a daily basis during the two weeks prior to the festival. Practices are important to update participants on the rules and responsibilities, the importance of teamwork, and most importantly, to stress the importance of personal and team safety practices required of all involved. As a "safety" reminder to all paddlers, we ask that you refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages prior to your practice session. Members of the Duluth Boat Club training crew and LSDB Festival organizers are most appreciative of your cooperation.
Rule Changes: There are some modifications to the Women & Youth divisions this year. The official 2011 rules will be published on the website in coming weeks. All teams should review the rules for questions and guidance.

Essentia Health SMDC Foundation |
Essentia Health SMDC Foundation has launched a new Dragon Boat fundraising website called "Friends Asking Friends" for the paddlers in this year's Festival. Paddlers can register online and create their own personalized website. You can upload photos and video, set your own fundraising goals, and blast out emails to friends & family to ask for support. You will also receive notices when someone donates to your page and automatic responses will be sent to your donors should they make a pledge to your team!
Paper copies of the Dragon Boat pledge form are available in limited numbers (it's keen to be green!) from Charity Smith at (218) 786-1062 or charity.smith@essentiahealth.org. Please encourage your teammates to register on this website in order to ask for donations online. Prizes will be given out all summer for paddlers that register on the Friends Asking Friends website, and winner will be notified by email.
