Annual Health Fair

Date: Saturday, May 5
Time: 8am - 11am
Location: Nantucket Cottage Hospital

The annual NCH Health Fair, sponsored by the Peter M. Sacerdote Family, offers an array of healthcare services including medical consultations, demonstrations, screenings and educational presentations.

The hospital will offer diagnostic and screening services including skin cancer screenings, prostate screenings and blood pressure testing, among other popular services.

New offerings this year include carbon monoxide safety from the Nantucket Fire Department, speech/language screenings for children and an educational segment on popular diet hoaxes on the market today.

All are welcome. Admission to the Health Fair is $5.00. This fee entitles you to entry and access to all offered screenings. In addition, you will be given a voucher at the Health Fair to redeem for discounted blood work tests at a future date (Lipid profile, Lyme test, PSA).

To pre-register for the Health Fair, download the 2012 registration form here. You may also register at the door.

Thrift Shop Open for Contributions
17 India Street
The Hospital Thrift Shop is now open for contributions as it gears up for its 83rd season. The shop was established in 1929 by a small group of dedicated volunteers. In its first year, it raised $603 dollars for the hospital. Over the years, the Thrift Shop has become a must-visit destination for affordable shopping and treasure hunting. In 2011, the Thrift Shop raised $130,000 for the hospital, which was used to renovate and expand NCH's laboratory and help patients with expenses related to off-island medical care.

Open for Contributions:

   April 2 - May 18
   Monday - Friday, 9am - noon
Open for Business:
May 21 - October 11. For complete hours, see our website

Honor a Nurse
As we prepare for National Nurses week in May, we ask you to think about honoring a nurse who may have made a difference in your life.

Every day our nurses offer skilled and compassionate care to our patients. They are too often unsung heroes.

Please consider a donation to Nantucket Cottage Hospital in honor or memory of a nurse who positively affected your life.

To honor a special nurse, please click here or contact the foundation office at 508-825-8250.

Charity Brunch to Benefit Social Services
Join us at the Brant Point Grill on May 6 for a brunch to benefit the hospital's Social Services Department. Proceeds from the brunch will be donated to three funds managed by the Social Services Department - Andrew Holdgate Fund, Indigent Fund and Shorty Fund. These help patients with medical expenses, transportation costs to off island medical appointments and basic living expenses while undergoing medical care.

Brant Point Grill will take the price of brunch off your check so that you may donate the cost of your meal or another amount to the funds. Traditionally, brunch is priced at $50 per adult and $30 per child. All beverages and gratuities are the responsibility of the guest.

Date: Sunday, May 6th, 2012
Location: Brant Point Grill at the White Elephant Hotel
Time: 11am - 2pm

Reservations are recommended.
