Does a Color Unit make sense for YOU?
Today customers who had always leased or purchased black & white copiers should ask themselves if a color/black and white multifunctional Copier/Printer/Scanner may make more sense. Years ago, Color Units were several times the cost of a Black & White Unit. Also if you wanted to make it print that was an additional expense. Today, a unit that does color as well as black & white can be less than $50.00 a month additional in cost. They also all Print and Scan.
If you are using an Ink Jet Printer or even a small Laser Printer to do a good amount of color output, you may save money by outputting this on a Copier Based device that does both your black & white and color copies, prints and scans. Generally, if you output 500 color prints a month or about 20 a day this makes sense.
The reason for this is the high expense of color prints with an Ink Jet or small Laser Printer. Ink Jet prints can cost you .35 per color print. Some lasers are not much better. Color Copiers output color prints for between .07 & .10 per print. An added benefit is much better copy quality with a copier based unit.
Additionally, Copier Based Units have more memory, spooling jobs quicker to save you both time and money. In many cases replacing your Black & White Copier with a Color Unit makes perfect sense.

Tip of the Month
A frequent cause of jams in copiers is overfilling the paper drawers. When refilling paper drawers, keep the paper about a quarter inch below the line on the inside of the drawer. It is better to load a little less paper than cause mis-feeds by overfilling the drawer. |
