Your Monthly Guide to Looking and Feeling Better
|
Dear Omega Client,
Each month we will bring to you a simple stretch that can easily be incoporated into your daily routine to help you look and feel better. Use caution when performing the stretches. If you have any abnormal pain or discomfort during the stretch, or if you are currently experiencing symptoms in the area associated with the stretch, discontinue the stretch.
As always, you are welcome to call us today for a FREE CONSULATION!
This month is the "Glut Stretch". |
Have trouble getting your foot up to tie your shoes? Sound familiar? Most of us, from lack of activity or even too much activity, can get really tight hips. Tight hips makes our low back move more to account for the lack of the hip motion. This causes undue strain on the low back, predisposing us to injury and pain. This stretch helps to stretch the "external hip rotators", allowing you to tie your shoes the way nature intended! |

To perform this stretch, lay on your back. Cross one leg over the other, placing the outside of your ankle near your knee. Interlace your fingers behind your knee and pull your knee towards your chest. In this picture, Dr. K is pulling his left knee towards his chest. You should feel a stretch in the back/side of your hip (in this picture, the right hip).
Hold for 30-60 seconds, switch sides, and repeat frequently throughout the day or whenever you feel tension or tightness. |
We hope this Body Blurb was helpful to you. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me.
