charity bass open Every year, Bill Spence hosts the Charity Bass Open as a fundraiser for Lake Champlain International.  This year the event was even bigger than last, and the fishing was great. 
Thank you, Bill, and all of the anglers who participated!  The funds donated from the Charity Bass Open support LCI's Next Generation Fund.  This fund gets kids out on the Lake and helps continue the angling heritage.

New Research Shows Number of New Fishing Participants Continues to Rise
kidsondock Fishing has consistently attracted new people to the sport over the last few years, according to a new report being released today by the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) and The Outdoor Foundation. The Blob Attacks: Algae Bloom Blankets China's Yellow Sea

A massive bloom of green algae is floating towards China's east coast, state media reported Wednesday. China's Xinhua news service said that the green blob has already spread to almost 7,400 square miles and is expected to grow.

While the algea is not poisonous, it sucks oxygen from the water threatening marine life and jeopardizing the region's tourism industry.  Read more...
