Dear Anne,
So I am guessing the whole "Green" thing died down just as fast as it started?  Is there any benefit still to building an environmentally savvy home with Classic Homes?
- Curious in Clarksville

Dear Curious,
The "Green" movement is still as strong and present as its ever been, but just because it is not the focal point of the media or the "talk of the town" doesn't mean its not around anymore. Home buyers are still receiving the large tax credits for things like Geo-Thermal Systems, Energy Star Certifications and we offer all of these options and more, some we even made standards in our homes. But keep in mind Green or building "environmentally friendly" still requires you to fork out some dough. This isn't in the budget for everyone, so we also have put a great amount of time into working with our contractors to create packages for energy efficiency and insulation. This gives you the option to improve the efficiency of your home, so while you may not be able to go "Green" you still have the option to go eco-friendly, which will increase your homes efficiency and help keep some money in your pocket.  Remember there is always a benefit to improving our environment and every bit counts.

WASHINGTON -- Sales of new homes are expected to post a modest increase in October, reinforcing data this week that showed the real estate market is regaining its footing after a dramatic collapse.

Jamie's Picks of the Month
  • Restaurants: La Canela is a family-run venture, and it shows. The personal attention from servers and cooks alike let you pretend you're in Lima. La Canela comes with a long list of dishes that will make you wonder why there aren't more Peruvian purveyors on the scene.

  • Around Town: Symphony of Lights - More than 70 larger-than-life, animated and stationary light creations with proceeds to benefit Howard County General Hospital.
