We took a quick trip up the coast just last week, and the crispness was in the air... fresh apples and pumpkins at every little roadside stand. Growing up, I remember the excitement of fall included wonderment (that I didn't always outwardly admit to) for the school year's new frontiers; both in the classroom and out.
 There always seemed to be a sense of starting off on a new level when the leaves changed for me, even long after graduation. I feel it now, too. It might be a sense of getting down to work and finishing out the year in a strong place for business and finances, or setting a strong foundation in place for the year to come.
What new level are you looking to reach in your business and life today? What are you doing this season to make that happen?
I suggest using visual media. If you already have video, sit back with hot apple cider one afternoon this week and brainstorm a few creative new ways to uplevel with visual media... webinars, video e mail, video tips on facebook, new training offered on DVD or what about a pitch video to raise funds or pull in partners?
Even executives are acknowledging video more now than ever. If you are approaching folks on an executive level, now or in the future then read the article I just finished today!
We don't get many changing leaves here in Southern California, sadly. Guess I'll have to look at pictures this year! Apple cider, here I come!

Reaching the Decision Makers with Video
To Film or Not to Film
Creation of your visual brand is a powerful marketing step. That's a given. But what if you are trying to reach executives? Don't they prefer charts, figures, whitepaper and written statistics to video?
Truth is, executives are just like the rest of us. A recent study by Forbes (Forbes Insights) shows that while it is true that younger execs have a higher preference for video, even their senior counterparts are turning to visual medium more often.  75% of executives surveyed said they watch work-related videos on business-related websites at least weekly; and 52% watch work-related videos on YouTube at least weekly.
So they are watching, but are they reacting to video? Yes. Overall, 65% have visited a vendor's website after watching a video. Younger executives, however, may be more fully engaged with this type of media, and appear more likely to make a purchase, call a vendor, or respond to an ad.
