"The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn."

---Ralph Waldo Emerson

The final editing of Charisma on Camera's first training DVD is started, and I am soooo excited!!

I am seriously thrilled that I now have a way of sharing this training that is so crucial with those who I cannot work with personally.  It's been keeping me busy, but I am hoping that this product can get people camera-ready so they can take on 2011 with authenticity, confidence and ... well, Charisma, of course!  Duh.

The DVD  "Own Your Space" is on presale now at a HUGE discount , but I'll talk more about that later...

It's the end of a looong day, and I know you know what I mean when I say I am fried mentally silly!

So, I'll keep this short by wishing you a dynamic start to a prosperous New Year filled with surprises and success beyond what you can even imagine right now!  If this year includes media goals for you, you'll appreciate the article on one of the biggest mistakes you can avoid in an interview!

Important Announcement!

A few months ago, a young entrepreneur told me a story of how she dreamed of being a philanthropist when she was little. (I found it funny since most little girls dream of being a princess!)  She decided recently that she needn't wait for the Bill Gate's sized bank account... " I can still give."  She said, "I just might start a little smaller, but at least I'll start and my giving will grow with me!"

I so appreciated what she said that night and have felt the need to do what I can--right now! So...

Some of you may know that I am a wildlife enthusiast, and host a conservation radio show: http://www.facebook.com/zooradio ("We connect people in the wildlife conservation community to each other, and we connect the wildlife conservation community to the world.")

This year, I will be giving 3 percent of COC earnings to a conservation group each month.  If you have a suggestion for a recipient group please forward it to me at Sandra@charismaoncamera.com.

Interview Like a Hollywood Media Star!

How to Keep Answers Short and Effective

Did you know that not only can long-winded answers be hard for the audience to follow, but they can actually cause your interview to go off-Mictrack?  Concise answers can keep you in control, and THAT'S where you want to be!

Brevity is the key word here.  Think of the quotes and sound bites you would like to have associated with your image and try to incorporate them as your answers when appropriate.

A doctor who created his own line of skin care was preparing for a media blitz.  The most important thing for him to learn was to stay away from the "doctor speak" and really emphasize the results of the products. As you can imagine, this was new to him.

We incorporated stories and real-life scenarios like looking in the rear view mirror and seeing new crows feet!  (What?!)  We took those moments that the target market could understand and created his sound bites and quick descriptions of the products.

The results were very effective... heck, even his PR girl and I wanted to get the skin care!

How can you keep it brief?  Well, if you are not working with a media coach, then try these:
