Short and Sweet... I've Gone Unblonde

Reinvention.  I guess that's what you could call this spontaneous thing I did, changing my hair color.  Maybe you've already experienced this in some way; be it hair color change or weight loss or some seemingly dramatic thing. It's a trip! Right?

The most fascinating thing for me is people's perception of different hair color.  I may be projecting, but I truly feel there is a difference in the way I am treated now compared to being "a blonde".  Not that it is good or bad, but different.  I sometimes felt with the lighter shade that had I to prove something before intelligent conversation ensued, although I do feel that the previous shade garnered more attention initially for whatever reason.  I am having such fun.  But I totally overlooked the fact that all of my marketing has to be redone! Oops! (Give me a little time for that!) Ah well, I guess it's worth it

This experience had me contemplating perception, and how we think others view us verses what might be really gong on.  We may be so off in this regard, particularly when we are positioning our brand for visual media.  "That's Just how I Am", Why you may want to change before mainstream media runs away with you is our feature article this week investigating that phenomenon.

The focus on video, video blogs and mainstream media right now is intense.  There is not head under the covers with this, you have to go visual if you want to get noticed and since websites with a video have a 60% higher conversion rate than pure copy webpages... get ready and go for it!  Time wasted here is money on the table!

Hello
"That's Just how I Am", Why you may want to change before mainstream media runs away with you

Perception of behavior is innate, we have been evaluating behavior and movement since our cave dwelling ancestors relied upon discernment for survival.  Actually, in some ways we still rely on acumen for our well being on a daily basis, but now we may not even realize what we are doing.  Working with my clients on camera there are times when it may be hard for them to understand that   certain behavior or even part of their story may be the wrong thing for mainstream media.  It may be the wrong thing for the advancement of their brand, even though they feel they are just being the "way they are".  Please understand that I love to have someone to work with who is comfortable in their own skin, it is a fantastic starting point for me as their media trainer to prepare them to handle the logistics of being on camera.  It may be difficult to understand that some behavior that is natural to that person may cause a negative perception when seen by an audience.
