New Website and Branding Announced Today

Well known for its lengthy name, the National Association for the Education of African American Children with Learning Disabilities has shortened its acronym to AACLD.  This effort to simplify how the organization is referenced is consistent with the current website domain name and email address.

In addition, the website (www.aacld.org) has been updated and redesigned.  A new branding tool (see below) has also been created to promote the organization and provide easy access for visitors.  AACLD supporters will soon be able to copy and paste this image as a clickable link for emails and other electronic communications.

The above changes, among many other pending improvements, are a result of a year long planning grant to build a strong, organizational foundation to support the expansion and sustainability of services to deepen understanding and advocacy for learning differences in African American children.

This original image of two African American children chasing a butterfly was first used when the organization was founded in 2000 and accompanied by the following quote: "Like the metamorphosis of a butterfly . . . change begins with a new way of learning."
