Chair's Corner

I am truly honored to be leading this organization at such a unique time in our history. It is inspiring to see how we are continually growing and setting in motion a strategy that supports sustainable change for our community.

To keep our valued members current, we are excited to roll out this very first "Women in the Know" eNewsletter.  This monthly communication will keep you up-to-date on WLC news, community outreach opportunities and special events.

We hope you enjoy the newsletter!  Ideas, thoughts and suggestions always welcome.

Regards,
~Kristy Gregg, WLC Chair

Exciting Changes & Opportunities
When you have a powerful group of women in the room things get done! And that's exactly what happened at this year's Annual Women's Leadership Council Meeting.

Members voted on and implemented the following items:
  • Women and children were selected as the focus population for the next two years.
  • The Women United Fund was approved. United Way contributors can now donate gifts in any amount to the newly established Women United Fund. Each year at the Annual Meeting, members will vote on how funds will be allocated, making possible the grants for services, programs and projects that advance our all-important mission.
  • The WLC Step-Up Program was established. This program allows women under the age of 30 to join at the rate of $500 in year one. In year two, the membership fee raises to $750 and in the third year to $1,000. This program is made possible by a very generous gift of $25,000 from US Bank

Throughout the year, we will be interacting with our community in a variety of ways to support our passion. In addition to volunteer projects, we are planning events which provide networking and thought-provoking educational opportunities. We will also create avenues for members to become more involved from a public policy standpoint.
