Neighborhood Reminders
As warm weather greets us, we have many more walkers on our
sidewalks. With that, the HOA board is asking that everyone remember
to pick up after yourself and your pets. There are doggie depot
stations throughout the neighborhood for your convenience. Aslo please
remember to pick up those soda cans, juice boxes, cigarette butts and
other debris lying around. Also, PLEASE be sure to pick up the Free
Newspapers that are delievered each week. These papers being left
behind are not only an eyesore, but could also be considered littering,
so please do your part to help keep our neighborhood beautiful! |

Directors' Notes
We
can officially say goodbye to winter and hello summer! On
April 8th Arbor Creek had our annual meeting at the Holly Springs
Cultural Center
for the second year - what a great facility! We had a good number of
residents in attendance which is great! We
had two open seats on the Master Board this year. Stacey O'Brien and
Yolanda Lundberg's terms were both up. Stacey decided not to re-run and I,
on behalf of the Board and the community, want to officially thank her for all
her work, time and energy that she's put into the Board and our community in
the past three years. Behind the
scenes Stacey has helped plan and organize many of our community events, and
also was a big proponent for the switch from chlorine to salt water in our new
pool. Stacey also organized and ran our Community Watch meetings with the
Holly Springs Police. Yolanda wished to re-run for another term and along
with Roger Cameron was elected. The titles for the new Master Board are
as follows: Yolanda
Lundberg - President Jen
McKeon - Vice President Michele
Blevins - Treasurer Roger
Cameron - Secretary Tracy Cook - Member at Large The
pool construction has been completed, we've passed inspection and we are ready
to open May 1st!! We have a few changes this year that you
will see more information about in the Pool News section of the newsletter as
well as in the mail from CAS. One of the big items that have been
discussed by the Board and the community as a whole was the desire to ban
smoking at the pool. The Board had CAS send out a survey asking residents
for their input. I want to thank everyone that took the time to do that
and return, it was a big help in our decision making process. The Board
held a special meeting and unanimously voted to ban smoking at the pool, the
benches in front of the clubhouse are now the designated smoking area. We
think that this along with all the new pool renovations is a positive step
forward! See more about this and other pool items below. Looking
forward to another great year!!

RECREATION NEWS
The warm weather has finally arrived and the 2010 community
events have also begun. April 3 was a
warm, sunny day and the playground and pavilion area was full of smiling faces
and laughter as the Annual Arbor Creek Easter Egg Hunt was underway. More than 500 eggs were scattered about for
our neighborhood children to find and enjoy.
After the egg hunt, everyone enjoyed cookies and juice boxes at the
pavilion. A special thanks to Tracy
Cook, Michele Blevins, Tim Zettel and the Darwin
family for all your help, the day couldn't have happened with out you! The recreation committee has decided to cancel the Adult
Cinco de Mayo party and will be planning on an alternative Adult party later in
the month. Please keep an eye out on the
website or on your mailboxes for updates.

The pool season will official kick off on Saturday, May 1st. As most of you have probably seen or heard,
the pool has gone under some construction this spring. You will find new plaster on the floor and
walls of the pool along with new tile in the swim lanes, on the steps and
around the pool. This is a GREAT upgrade
to the pool which will help set the tone for more to come in the next few
years. You will also notice some additional changes for this
upcoming season. The board has made the
decision to make the pool a smoke
free environment. A new smoking
section will be located in front of the clubhouse at the blue Arbor Creek
benches. Another welcome change is the addition of Adult Swim. This will take place every Wednesday from 6
pm to close. This swim time will be for
anyone 21 years of age and over. Pool Key Cards If you have lost your key card or never got one last year. Please contact
Jeff Allenat CAS to request a new or replacement card. The
HOA will provide each house 1 (one) key card on a 1 (one) time basis. Replacement or additional cards will be $10 per card or you can also purchase a
key fob for $20. There is a limit of 2 (two) cards per household.
For questions, please contact: President, Yolanda LundbergMember at Large, Tracy CookCAS, Jeff AllenPool Rules- This is a private pool with
admittance by key card only. It is for the use of Arbor Creek
Community residents only. Anyone using this facility without
authorization is subject to arrest for trespassing.
- The pool is a smoke-free facility.
The permitted smoking area is located in front of the clubhouse at the
blue benches. Please dispose of debris in the waste receptacle
provided.
- Pool Hours: Lap swimming only
6am to 9am. Regular pool hours 9am to 9pm or as posted. Swimming in
our pool after closing may result in a fine and/or loss of pool
privileges. This is a serious offense. If people are found in
our pool after closing, the police may be called.
- Adult Swim: Every Wednesday from 6 pm to close will
be for homeowners and guests age 21 and over.
- The pool is for the exclusive
use of the Arbor Creek Homeowners Association members and their
guests. Each household is allowed up to four guests per visit.
Only adult residents may bring guests. Such residents will be
responsible for their guests' behavior.
- The state of North Carolina stresses that children
under 14 years of age MUST be accompanied by an adult, and that adults
should not swim alone. For this reason, the Arbor Creek HOA requires
that children under age 14 be accompanied by an adult (defined as someone
who is 18 years old or older and is the parent or legal guardian, a
relative, or baby-sitter). Unsupervised children will be required to
leave the pool area and the police may be called, if warranted.
- Children 14-17 years of age who
come to the pool without an adult must show their Student ID to verify age
before entering the pool area. If you child is home-schooled or does
not have a student ID, please contact the board of directors.
- Guest Policy: ~ Homeowners are permitted to bring up to 4 guests per household. ~ Residents other than homeowners who are over 18 years old
that live at the home are permitted to bring up to 2 guests. ~ Children between the ages of 14-17 are NOT permitted to
bring any guests to the pool. ~ Babysitters will be required to have a signed note from the
parents stating that they have permission to bring the children to the
pool for the day. ~ Exceptions: Residents may have the need to bring more
people from time to time (once or twice per season). When this
happens, call a board member or management and let them know. Your
name will be left with the lifeguard with the number of guests that you
are allowed to bring and you will be admitted. Remember, this is the
exception to the rule.
- The pool may be closed due to
inclement weather, maintenance or other problems at the discretion of the
pool manager, the board of directors or the management company.
- No glass containers of any type
are permitted within the pool fence. If broken glass is found in the
pool, the pool must be closed, drained, cleaned and refilled. These
costs will be charged to the homeowner responsible.
- Running, pushing, wrestling,
foul language or other forms of horseplay are prohibited in or around the
pool. DISCIPLINE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARENT OR ADULT IN
CHARGE. ANY NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR MAY RESULT IN A LIFEGUARD ASKING A
SWIMMER TO GET OUT OF THE POOL FOR A TIME-OUT OR TO POSSIBLY LEAVE THE
POOL FOR THE DAY. Excessive negative behavior may result in the complete
loss of pool privileges.
- No pets are allowed in or around
the pool area.
