Dear ,

Welcome to Issue 192.  If you did not receive a previous issue, you may use the archive link below to view it now.  The mission of "Marvelous Mondays" is to offer an inspirational thought, a practical exercise, some humor, or a simple tip to jump-start your week and to enhance your life, business, outlook or relationships.

Please feel free to forward "Marvelous Mondays" to others who will enjoy it.

FLEXIBILITY

Flexible people are able to:

ADAPT to unfamiliar, unpredictable and fluid circumstances
REACT to change without rigidity
CHANGE their minds when the evidence suggests that they're mistaken
* Be OPEN to and tolerant of different ideas, orientations, and ways of doing things
* Smoothly HANDLE difficult demands and shifting priorities
READ their environment and then make decisions

[The above characteristics are from Steven J. Stein's "The EQ Edge: Emotional Intelligence and Your Success"]

INFLEXIBILITY

Inflexible people are:

* Over-attached to their ways of thinking and doing things
* Are extremely stubborn
* Are stuck in their patterns
* Are difficult to change

EXERCISE

I invite you to reflect on the following questions and determine which might apply to you and, if so, which ones you need to change.

* Do I cling to my own opinion and have difficulty valuing the opinions of others?
* Do I like being with unfamiliar people or in unfamiliar situations or places?
* Do I have difficulty compromising or negotiating?
* Am I uncomfortable with spontaneity or last minute changes?
* Is it hard for me to get out of a rut?

I regularly coach people to become more flexible in their business and personal relationships in order to reach their goals for success.  Invest in yourself.  You're worth it!  Just pick up the phone.  I am available to help.
