Your Authentic Self (Happiness)

This is a fourth on a series on happiness.

Dear ,

Welcome to Issue 176.  If you did not receive a previous issue, you may use the archive link below to view it now.  The mission of "Marvelous Mondays" is to offer an inspirational thought, a practical exercise, some humor, or a simple tip to jump-start your week and to enhance your life, business, outlook or relationships.

Please feel free to forward "Marvelous Mondays" to others who will enjoy it.

YOUR AUTHENTIC SELF

A happy person (one who is living in joy) is in touch with her/his authentic self. I am defining authentic self as follows:

    1. Who I am as an individual?
    2. It is stepping out of my persona and what I'm programmed to do and what others expect out of me.
    3. It's claiming myself as my true identity.
    4. It's getting rid of labels, titles and credentials.

EXERCISE

I invite you to do the following:

  1. Describe and write down your authentic self.
  2.  Are you expressing it regularly?
  3. How are you expressing it?

I look forward hearing from you and will listen to you. I regularly coach clients on discovering and living out their authentic selves. Just pick up the phone and call me.

John Lennon guitar

"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "happy". They told me I didn't understand the assignment.

I told them they didn't understand life."

- John Lennon.
