BRONNIE WARE'S BOOK

Bronnie is an Australian nurse who cares for the terminally ill during their final 12 weeks on this planet. In her newly released book, "The Top Five Regrets of the Dying", she speaks of people's clarity in their final weeks. She discusses the top five regrets.

THE MOST COMMON REGRET

The most common regret was, "I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me." Coaching clients tell me that living a life that others expected of them was always unfulfilling and frustrating. And they never could satisfy the expectations of others.

ANOTHER REGRET-"I WISH I'D HAD THE COURAGE TO EXPRESS MY FEELINGS."

They told Bronnie they suppressed their feelings just to keep peace with others. And at what a price? Many said their illnesses were directly due to this suppression.

EXERCISE

I invite you this week to do the following:

1.   Reflect on what areas, if any, in your life that you had or still have regrets for not having the courage to live your own life and not the life others expected of you.

2.   Reflect on the feelings, if any, you have suppressed just to keep peace.

            a.   Did it work?

            b.   What price did you pay?

            c.   Are you still paying the price?

            d.   What illnesses have developed from this?

3.     Listen to Frank Sinatra, "I Did It My Way" which is easily found on Pandora or Youtube. You may especially enjoy his duet with Luciano Pavarotti

I realize this exercise will probably stretch most of you. That's great! That's growth!

I really look forward to hearing from you, and I will listen to you! I regularly assist people in this area and am available to work with you. The results are often quick and dramatic. Ask yourself if you deserve to get assistance and closure on some issues. Just email me or call me and we can get started.

Regrets, I've had a few

But then again, too few to mention

I did what I had to do

I did it my way

For what is a man, what has he got?

If not himself, then he has naught.

To say the things he truly feels........

The record shows I took the blows and did it my way!

Yes it was my way
