KING'S LEGACY

Today we commemorate the legacy of a man who paved the way for equality.  In 1955, King accepted the leadership of the first black nonviolent demonstration in contemporary times in the United States.  He organized and led a bus boycott that lasted 382 days, eventually leading to the Supreme Court declaring unconstitutional the laws that had allowed segregation on buses.  During the boycott, King was arrested, his home bombed, and he was subjected to personal abuse.  Yet he never resorted to violence and preached against it.

His goal and his dream were civil rights, equality, and unity.  His dream seemed unattainabl.!  Yet he persevered and succeeded!  He didn't just follow his dream.  He literally, courageously, and BOLDLY marched to claim his dream!!

EXERCISE

This week, I invite you to dream about something very important to you.  It could be a charity, a cause, something personal, or related to your profession or others.  Brainstorm one dream.  Be BOLD.  Don't be concerned whether others would consider it unattainable or foolish.  Write it down and share it with someone.  Take one small step this week toward claiming your dream.

I really want to hear your BOLD dream.  I will listen to you and am always available to assist in acheiving your DREAM. Communicating with me is your first step to claiming your dream.
