Are You Still Serving Yourself Leftovers From 2011?

Dear ,

Welcome to Issue 155.  If you did not receive a previous issue, you may use the archive link below to view it now.  The mission of "Marvelous Mondays" is to offer an inspirational thought, a practical exercise, some humor, or a simple tip to jump-start your week and to enhance your life, business, outlook or relationships.

Please feel free to forward "Marvelous Mondays" to others who will enjoy it.

ARE YOUR GOALS LEFTOVERS?

Are your 2012 New Year's goals leftovers from prior years? If so, you're not alone. The three reasons are usually:

  1. It wasn't important enough.
  2. You weren't committed to that goal.
  3. You weren't accountable to anyone.

If it's not important, then just delete it. If the goal is important, then just pick one goal and declare confidently to yourself, "Help is on the way."

EXERCISE

Here are the 4 Steps for HELP, which I call doing the "DWAP". This is a proven technique in my coaching practice:

  1. Define your goal with specificity.
  2. Write it down.
  3. Account to someone regularly. [Close friends probably won't hold you accountable because they'll buy into your excuses]
  4. Practice, practice, and practice.

Please tell me how you like the DWAP. I really want to hear your goal for 2012.  I will listen to you and am always available to assist in achieving your goal.
