SURPRISES

A surprise is something that happens suddenly or unexpectedly. We typically label surprises very quickly as either "good" for us or "not so good" for us.But perhaps that thought process needs to be challenged.  We have all had surprises in 2011. So let's reflect.

 

EXERCISE

  1. I invite you to look at 2011 and write down a few words to describe any surprises in any of these areas:
  • Your primary relationships
  • Your career
  • Your finances
  • Your health
  • Your fitness
  • Your goals
  • Your sense of balance
  • Your spiritual life

     2.   Now write down:

  • How you dealt with the surprises
  • Whether your initial labeling as a "Good" surprise or "Not so Good" surprise is still accurate.
  • What you have learned from the surprises.

    3.    Hopefully we grew this year, especially from the "Not So Good" surprises.
