COMPLETION IS MORE THAN A PASS

As the football season begins, many teams will be expecting their quarterbacks to throw accurate passes to the receivers for touchdowns.  When the ball is caught, it's called a completion.  But if the receiver is not in the end zone, then often the play is not considered a success because it wasn't a score.  The goal was not complete.

In my coaching practice, I often assist clients in setting their goals and achieving them with enthusiasm.  Most business goals are comprised of a series of tasks.  As business people, we must provide the environment and the design for accomplishing each task in order to complete the goal.  Sometimes the first task is successful (like the receiver catching the football) but then the plan gets stalled.  Then we need to decide whether to stay with the plan and execute it better or to change our plan and goals.

EXERCISE

This week I invite you to do the following exercise for your business, career, organization, or personal life:

1.    Pick one goal that has been a carryover or has been nagging you for weeks, or months, or even years.

2.    Talk to someone who will listen and challenge you.

3.    Then determine what steps ("tasks") you need to complete the goal, or

4.    Determine if you need to alter your goal and change your vision.  If the answer is yes, then clearly state in ten words or less your goal and the action steps.

SPECIAL FREE OFFER

Accountability to someone else is usually the best way to achieve a goal.  In order to encourage you to achieve your goals, I will be offering a complimentary 40 minute in person or telephone coaching session to the first five people who call me before September 21st.  We will then establish the date for the coaching session.  I really look forward to hearing from you.
