LABOR DAY REFLECTIOn
This week I invite you to consider Labor Day and how we can be grateful for those who contribute their labor for our food, clothes, health, home and lifestyle.  Be grateful for the work that you and others do each day.

EXERCISE
Much labor and love is carried out with our hands.  Think of the pilot who flies a plane, the doctor who cares for a loved one, the yoga instructor who demonstrates a position, the florist who arranges the flowers, the photographer who focuses the lens and presses the shutter open...

The hand has 27 bones and 17 mobile joints and something like 40 muscles. It takes 9  muscles to only move the thumb.  Your hands have the ability to grasp, hold, strike, receive, give, take an oath, beat a drum, play the piano. They can be the eyes to the blind and the ears to the deaf. They are able to tell texture, dimension, weight. They perform surgery, write poetry, do art, bless people, beat the drums.

How have you used your hands today?  Have you appreciated the hands of others today?

*Thanks to Margaret Louvier, who contributed to this issue of Marvelous Mondays..

"I believe in the dignity of labor,
whether with head or hand;
that the world owes no man a living but
that it owes every man
an opportunity to make a living."

-John D. Rockefeller
