| FOCUS |
We have been discussing music in prior series and will return to that subject later. We know Baroque music helps us focus, so let's look at FOCUS. Multi-tasking is not necessarily good or bad. However, some people develop a multi-tasking obsession or at least a predisposition to multi-tasking. This becomes a habit which is difficult to break when they really need to focus. EXAMPLES OF MULTI-TASKING - Talking on the phone while driving
- Talking on phone while eating
- Reading a paper or doing a work report while watching TV and maybe even talking to someone
- Talking to a customer or someone else on the phone while also working on your computer
- Talking on the phone while walking
- Reading reports or papers while exercising
- Talking on the phone while watching children or grandchildren play
- Texting during a meeting or presentation

EXERCISE
|
I invite you in the next week to look at one area in your life where you are multi-tasking and instead practice doing it as a single task. You will need to change a habit in order to accomplish this. This can become a practice and can be the first step to "Mastery". Click here for our series on Mastery issues 116, 117, 119, 120 & 121. Here would be some examples: · Drive without talking on the phone · Read without having a TV on · Enjoy one meal without reading or watching TV · Stay focused on what you are doing when you are exercising, such as weights, running, swimming, yoga, etc. |
