AN ANCIENT STORY
An arrogant wise man visited a Zen Master and asked what he needed to do to become "even wiser."  The Zen Master began pouring tea into the haughty man's cup.  He kept pouring and pouring and the tea kept spilling and spilling all over the proud man's lap.  Then the Zen Master turned and walked away.

THE LESSON
Without using words, the Zen Master made it very clear.  If a person's already full, how can there be any room for additional knowledge, insights, expansion, or growth?  Such a person has fallen off the path of mastery.  So, if we want to keep growing, we have to keep emptying the cup.

EXERCISE
I invite you to look at the following:

1.     Your relationship as a spouse, lover, friend, parent, child, co-owner of a business, employer, employee, coach, player, teacher, student

2.     Your political beliefs

3.     Your socio-economic beliefs

4.   Your spiritual or religious practices and beliefs

5.     Your nutritional practices

6.     The books you typically read

Now reflect on where your cup is already spilling.  In what areas do you need to empty your cup?

**I received some insightful responses to Issue 121 and I look forward to your responses to this Issue 122.**
