COACHING "THE KING'S SPEECH"

The three most common fears in the order of severity are: PUBLIC SPEAKING, death, and snakes.  In the movie "the King's Speech," (which received 12 Oscar Nominations) the King was terrorized by public speaking.  And his calamity was exacerbated by the insensitivity of his father and the bullying by his older brother.  Yet he knew he needed help and needed it fast, so he hired a coach who helped him face down and overcome his fear and his stammering.  Wow!  What a coaching assignment!

EXERCISE

I invite you to examine whether there is any road block or fear in your personal or business life or in the personal or business life of a friend or fellow employee.  To assist you, I invite you to click here for a one page summary of The Value of the Coach which I use in coaching sessions and group presentations.  I invite you to pick one or two statements from The Value of the Coach that match what you saw in "the King's Speech".  And, if any statement speaks to you personally, then "WHAT'S YOUR NEXT STEP?"  Of course, I look forward to your response and am happy to answer any questions.
