QUIT TAKING IT PERSONALLY
Everyone has their own reality.  You don't know other people's reality, so you can't assume that other people know your reality.

We can make ourselves miserable by taking other people's actions and remarks (which are just their opinions) personally.  Don Miguel in his acclaimed "The Four Agreements" speaks about people's emotional garbage that they try to dump on others.  Here's an easy example.  As your stop light turns green, the driver behind you immediately blasts his/her horn and might even gesture you.  You can get upset and wonder how someone could be so rude when you did nothing wrong.  Then you start getting mad at the driver.  So let's take a look at the situation of the honking driver.  He/she could be hauling a lot of emotional garbage, such as being angry at him/herself for being late to work, or anxious about facing a person or project at work or maybe had an argument at home.

EXERCISE
This week, notice when you are about to take something personally.  Slow down and remember that you don't know their reality.

"The bottom line is that successful people don't let other people's garbage become their destiny.  They love the people who treat them right and pray for the ones who don't."
