SERVICE WITH A SMILE

Winstead's Image
I want to introduce you to Kathy Fern, the manager of the Plaza Winsteads, who is a subscriber to Marvelous Mondays.  As a regular customer, I observe the consistent, friendly service and happy employees (all 45 of them).

How does Kathy do it?  She is cheerful and trains her staff well.  She also says, "please" and "thank you" consistently.  And so does her staff.  They all work hard and they have fun.  The skyscraper is a Winstead's tradition intended to be shared by 2 - 4 people.  It's a whole 12" high!  It is presented to your table by a smiling server (like Sue in the photo) who shakes a tambourine (a new fun idea).

EXERCISE
Do you want to put more fun in your workplace?  I invite you to initiate something, even if it is on a trial basis.  If you serve the public, then initiate something that is fun for them.  Of course, keep it simple.  If you do not serve the public, initiate something fun for your employees.  The benefits will be obvious.
