MEETING MANAGEMENT
|
Some meetings can turn into time wasters. The following are 5 things to watch out for:
The facilitator can review these 5 points with everyone before the meeting. If people need to be reminded, it can be done with humor or lightheartedly. You can be creative, make a PowerPoint and include pictures on each slide explaining each concept. - HOGGING: One person monopolizes the meeting.
- BOGGING: The group dwells on one subject, especially at the beginning.
- FOGGING: One person evades topics or becomes vague and defensive.
- FROGGING: The group leaps around aimlessly.
- FLOGGING: Participants flint personal attacks at each other.
* John acknowledges Lawrence Holpp's "Managing Teams" for the above techniques.*
